The Ridge.

That's it. That's the whole thing.

Hello. There's a ridge that runs through the north end of Seattle. You've probably walked it and looked out from it and seen the Olympics on one side and the Cascades on the other and thought "Nice" and then kept walking.

Phinney Ridge, Greenwood, Phinneywood, Woodland Park — these neighborhoods all share this ridge, but that unity goes unnamed and that's a mistake. It's obviously The Ridge.

I know what you're thinking, "But there are other ridges in Seattle." Sure. There's also other cities with wind and sketchy politicians, and that didn't stop Chicago.

To recap, you walk on The Ridge. Giraffes live on The Ridge. Ridge Pizza serves pizza on The Ridge. A lot of people will confuse this with Ridge Pizza specifically, but that's actually fine — by the time this thing is fully realized, there will be The Ridge Coffee, The Ridge Laundromat, The Ridge everything. It's going to be our own little Pacific Northwest thing.

This isn't meant to be a sales pitch, I'm not asking you to decide today. But next time you're up here, and someone calls you and asks where you are, try it out, see how it feels…

Say you're on The Ridge.
